Andaz Miami Beach is now recruiting an Associate Director of Event Sales to join the hotel's opening team. An art-deco building and architectural landmark is home to the newest luxury lifestyle hotel located in the heart of Mid-beach. The property boasts 287 guestrooms including 34 breathtaking suites and the ONLY Ocean-view arrival experience in Miami Beach. The design features elements of texture, art, and pops of color that create a unique and captivating experience. Each suite is designed with floor-to-ceiling windows, most with deep-soaking tubs, and cozy reading nooks. Guests can also enjoy private outdoor terraces with stunning views of the Atlantic and the Miami skyline. Unmatched amenities include a full-service spa, a well-equipped fitness center, a destination dining experience by José Andrés, two pools, and a Beach Club catering to the who's who of Miami. Spanning 25,000 square feet of innovative indoor and outdoor event space, Andaz Miami Beach will become a landing spot for guests and locals seeking celebratory gatherings that embrace the city's culture of music, art, and fashion.
Position Summary
The Associate Director of Event Sales responsible for ensuring every event guest receives personalized and memorable experiences that exceed their expectations.
Position Responsibilities/ Essential Functions
• Implementing successful sales activities and quotas to secure new business from specified market segments including corporate, social, and event planners.
• Maintaining existing business clientele relationships, ensuring maximum profitability for the hotel and quality service for guests.
• Implement strategies to maximize and room meeting and catering food revenue.
• Planning and execution of all meetings, from initial contract negotiations to final payment
• Generating all contracted agreements, proposals, group follow up and other letters of correspondence to deliver a seamless experience as well as build client relationships and loyalty
• Developing and implementing effective departmental process and procedures ensuring all hotel departments are communicated essential event & program details that are timely and comprehensive
• Ensure group and event billing SOP is followed on all contracts
• Leading team to develop professional selling skills through participation in prescribed training programs and mentorship
• Setting goals and expectations for direct reports, aligning performance and incentives, managing performance issues and holding team accountable for results
• Maintaining and achieving personal catering revenue goals
• Establishing and maintaining strong vendor relationships
• Perform other related duties as required.
Qualifications
Associate Director of Events Sales Requirements and Qualifications
• Proven experience leading a team to meet target goals with a positive, supportive leadership style in a winning environment
• Understanding and experience in luxury and/or lifestyle hospitality
• Professional knowledge of food and wine
• Knowledge of developing and executing sales objectives and strategies
• Experience working with culinary team and assisting chef with developing menus and pricing
• A proven track record of driving revenues
• Strong customer service orientation and team player, with the ability to establish collaborative working relationships
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Knowledge of the Miami market
• Working knowledge of Word, Excel, and preferably Opera Sales & Catering software
