As a Business Analyst of Underwriting Quality Management, you will be supporting the CVSHealth PBM Underwriting team by completing quality audits of financial documentation outlined in the contracts of CVSHealth customers. You will also be responsible for aggregating discrepancies, identifying trends, and reporting findings to Underwriting senior leaders.
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly analytical and data-driven Underwriting Sr. Analyst to support the development and execution of quality assurance initiatives across our underwriting operations. This role ensures adherence to underwriting guidelines, regulatory requirements, and risk appetite while continuously improving performance through actionable insights and data analysis.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leverage data to identify trends and opportunities for continuous improvement within the quality assurance (QA) framework for underwriting practices.
- Design and maintain data-driven KPIs and quality scorecards to monitor underwriting performance, consistency, and compliance.
- Analyze underwriting data to detect patterns of procedural errors and develop actionable solutions.
- Collaborate with underwriting, data science, and audit teams to implement quality improvement initiatives.
- Drive automation and reporting tools to streamline quality reviews and enhance data transparency.
- Present quality insights, metrics, and recommendations to senior leadership in a clear, data-supported format.
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience with data analysis tools (e.g., SQL, Excel, Power BI, Tableau).
- Strong time management skills, evidenced by experience being accountable to multiple deliverables on staggered deadlines.
- Effective communication skills in both formal and informal written communications and speech at all levels of an organization.
- Strong attention to detail, evidenced by accurately entering data into spreadsheets, carefully following instructions to complete tasks, and creating records and reports for later reference.
Preferred Qualifications
- 1+ year of audit or underwriting experience, including at least 1 year in a quality assurance or leadership capacity.
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and drive process improvements using data-driven insights.
- Lean Six Sigma or similar quality/process improvement certification.
- 1+ year of experience using Salesforce.
- Background in PBM industry.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Risk Management, Statistics, or comparable work experience in a related field.

Pay Range
The typical pay range for this role is:
$46,988.00 - $102,000.00
This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
