Job overview and responsibilities

As an Engineer- Technical Operations at United you will be challenged to provide support for a wide range of aircraft reliability, maintenance programs and other engineering functions. You must be able to understand, analyze and seek solutions to the design, operation, maintenance, performance or repair of aircraft and their components. You should also be able to logically approach problem solving, optimize an aircraft maintenance program or configurations and ensure a safe and legal operation. You will also evaluate the benefits of the cost impact of projects that can be added to the aircraft. You will be responsible for working with both internal and external customers on technical issues, component work scope recommendations and failure investigations. Your project work will increase in complexity as you gain critical experience in aircraft reliability programs. You could work in a variety of engineering departments based on current needs.

• Ability to manage and decipher large amounts of Engineering data (removal records, shop findings, etc) to determine root cause and possible corrective actions
• Learn to develops solutions and implementation plans, project justification, cost/benefit analysis and overall management of project implementation
• Analyze shop reports, findings, and corrective actions to create structured, reliable datasets and support data related request across different engineering teams
• Be able to manipulate and analyze complex, high-volume, high dimensionality data from various sources to highlight patterns and relationships
• Develop and improve current data structure and apply necessary automations to support engineering teams
• Regularly monitor and analyze performance data to ensure quality and adherence to KPIs
• Develop improved analysis methodologies, analytical dashboards and automated tools to improve operational reliability
• Define and support new engineering use cases by integrating additional data sources and enhancing dashboards in collaboration with engineering and digital teams.
• Monitors, analyzes and reports on performance against plan
• Drive continuous improvement through the systematic use of tools and techniques
• Understand a business problem and the available data and identify what analytics and modeling techniques can be applied to answer a business question

Qualifications

Required

• Bachelor's degree in engineering (preferred Aerospace, Mechanical or Aeronautical)
• 3 to 5 years of engineering experience.
• Engineering skill sets which can be applied to a range of aircraft reliability and different Engineering.
• Being able to communicate complex quantitative analysis and algorithms in a clear, precise and actionable manner
• Data visualization skills using one or more reporting tools to produce meaningful dashboards
• Self-starter with high degree of initiative and ability to manage deadlines
• Strong project management skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities
• Analytical approach to problem solving, with attention to detail and a sense of urgency
• Excellent verbal and technical writing skills needed
• Must be legally authorized to work in the India for any employer without sponsorship
• Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification
• Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position
• Strong problem-solving, listening, written and verbal communication and decision-making skills
• Strong skills in MS office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.) and MS Teams
• Experience with programming languages such as SQL, Python, Pyspark, etc
• OCR, Machine learning experience preferred
