Job Description Summary:The role ensures the successful execution of national-level strategic events that support BCBSA's mission and system-wide initiatives. The position manages the logistics, timelines, and stakeholder coordination necessary to deliver high-impact conferences and meetings. The role collaborates with internal stakeholders to ensure events reflect organizational priorities and meet operational standards.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Manage the full lifecycle of national conferences and events, including project planning, financial tracking, and stakeholder coordination
- Oversee speaker engagement, including scheduling, portal maintenance, webinar facilitation, and onsite preparation
- Complete program close-out tasks, integrate sponsorships, maintain databases, and coordinate with internal partners.
- Research industry trends and best practices to inform event procedures and recommendations
- Ensure event planning aligns with BCBSA policies and protocols

Required Education, Certifications and Experience:
Education:
- Preferred Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience
- Required 5+ Years In a project management role overseeing large and/or complex meetings and conferences
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook)
- Experience using Cvent or similar platforms for speaker management
- Ability to learn and adapt to new software applications quickly
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to pivot and adapt to changing circumstances
- Effective communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to work independently and within teams
- Strategic decision-making under pressure
- Critical thinking and problem-solving capabilities
- Comfort making informed recommendations to leadership
- Preferred: Certified Project Management Professional (PMP) - PMI or Certified Meeting Professional - CMP
- Five or more years' in a meeting management role overseeing large and/or complex meetings and conferences
- Experience with project management to include budget oversight.
- Deep experience with speaker management.
- Established relationships in the meetings industry with strong knowledge of first tier cities in the US.
- Experience managing stakeholder expectations at all levels
- Preferred: Knowledge of virtual and hybrid meeting formats
- Preferred: Familiarity with healthcare industry
The posted salary range is the lowest to highest salary we , in good faith , believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting . We may ultimately pay more or less than the hiring range and t his hiring range may also be modified in the future. A candidate's position within the hiring range may be based on several factors including, but not limited to, specific competencies, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, relevant experience, skills, seniority, performance, shift, travel requirements, and business or organizational needs. This job is also eligible for annual bonus incentive pay.
