Description
At United, we offer internships, co-ops, and full-time opportunities for early career professionals. In any role, you're a key member of our team, contributing to real projects that help move the business forward while gaining hands-on experience, growing your professional skill set, and connecting with industry leaders. You'll also have a chance to build community through our employee-run Business Resource Groups, participate in industry conferences, and enjoy unlimited standby travel anywhere we fly.
Get your hard hat ready. We're not just renovating the travel experience - we're renovating our physical spaces too. And our Corporate Real Estate team is on the front lines of procuring, designing and developing spaces at all our hubs, stations and city locations across the world. From airport affairs and business services to planning and development, this team is responsible for all our leases and major construction and renovation projects, system wide. The CRE Planning and Strategy (Analytics) team is leading the way to better informed decision making within Corporate Real Estate. As this is a newer team within CRE, we look to redefine the way the group uses data and analysis to improve decision making, streamline processes, and drive efficiency across the group. The internship role will be involved across projects as an active team member, learning how United operates internally and how to leverage analytical skills to tell stories with data.
Key Responsibilities:
This internship offers hands-on experience in aviation planning and the opportunity to develop valuable skills in a dynamic and strategic environment.
- Analyze schedule data to convert into digestible models and dashboards
- Apply analysis findings and create stories to support financial justification for CRE projects in partnership with the division owner, helping to answer how much space we need, why we need it, and why now
- Consolidate real estate information (lease details and costs, construction timeframes and impact, etc.) in an easily accessible platform, and craft processes to keep this information up to date and accurate
This internship is designed solely to provide you with skill development and valuable work experience. This role will likely not convert to a full-time position at United at the conclusion of the internship.
Qualifications
What's needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications):
- Currently enrolled in a college program (BS/BA) preferably in Industrial Engineering, Data Analytics, Statistics, Business, Operations, Finance, Economics, or Aviation Management; must have at least one semester remaining at the conclusion of the internship
- Data querying, data visualization, statistical analysis, case study experience
- Proficiency in Excel and other Microsoft Office products
- Strong interpersonal skills with a focus on teamwork
- Interest in aviation, real estate development, and/or business operations
The starting rate for this role is $20.00.
The base salary range/hourly rate listed is dependent on job-related, non-discriminatory factors such as experience, education and skills. This position may also be eligible for bonus and/or long-term incentive compensation awards.
You may be eligible for the following competitive benefits: medical, dental, vision, life, accident & disability, parental leave, employee assistance program, commuter, paid holidays, paid time off, 401(k) and flight privileges.
