- Jr. Right of Way Agent
Description
RND Consultants, Inc. is a small and growing company providing engineering, real estate, and construction solutions to public and private clients with a focus on transportation and real estate development. We are currently seeking a Right-of-Way Agent to assist our real estate team. The Right of Way agent will research, negotiate, and assist with the purchase or lease of land required for construction projects.
We are seeking qualified applicants who will:
Assist with the real estate acquisitions and license agreements for our public-sector clients. The successful candidate will be a self-starter with good interpersonal skills who is comfortable working in a team environment and working closely with our transportation and municipal clients. Day-to-day responsibilities include:
- Reviewing engineering plans, titles, and public records to identify proposed land impacts and property rights needed for construction
- Coordinating and working closely with owners, developers, business partners, title examiners, appraisers, and attorneys
- Reviewing titles, and appraisals
- Maintaining a real estate tracking system and schedules for properties
- Preparing documents for real estate negotiations
- Assisting with preparation and coordination of license agreements
- Assisting with the negotiating real estate acquisitions with property owners
- Familiar with the FTA/FHWA Federal Real Estate Guidelines (desirable but not a requirement)
- Knowledge of the Federal Uniform Act and Federal Relocation Regulations (desirable but not a requirement)
- Knowledge of the eminent domain process (desirable but not a requirement)
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree from accredited university (engineering or real estate preferred) but not required.
- 2-3 years (+) professional experience in similar role
- Proficiency with MS Office systems
- Ability to handle fast paced environment, multi-task, with critical attention to detail
- Requires effective communication skills, team player, self-motivator, and independent worker
- Ability to interact with staff, vendors, other departments, senior management, property owners, and Client
