- Assists with the investment reporting function for U.S. GAAP and NAIC, regulatory, tax and/or board requirements of the Insurance Company, subsidiaries and affiliates.
- Ensures reporting consistency in the financial statements, board reports and information provided to analysts.
- Researches and proposes new disclosures and modifications to reports in response to new pronouncements and guidelines.
- Determines appropriate disclosures related to new investment types.
- Interprets new pronouncements and guidelines issued by authoritative associations in relation to U.S. GAAP, NAIC, or various regulations.
- Recommends appropriate changes to accounting systems and presentation of information
- Insurance Company, subsidiaries and affiliates, ensuring a proper audit trail of financial statements numbers.
- Analyzes and interprets financial results.
- Prepares audit documents upon request.
- Explains reports and position to auditors as necessary.
EDUCATION: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting.
EXPERIENCE: 5-7 years of financial reporting experience required.
REGISTRATIONS/LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS: (list those required to perform the job that ALL associates in the role must have)
SKILLS/CHARACTERISTICS:
- Public accounting or investment related financial reporting experience a plus.
- CPA preferred.
- Advanced Excel skills
- Normal Office Working Conditions
