Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, Manufacturing Technology, related technical field, or equivalent experience.Minimum of 10 years of hands-on experience in a machining or manufacturing environment, with 5+ years in a leadership or managerial capacity.Deep understanding of machining processes, CNC equipment, cutting tools, and precision manufacturing standards.Proven experience in machine shop automation, including implementation and optimization of automated systems.Proficiency in production planning software (e.g., ERP, MRP) and inventory management systems.Demonstrated leadership excellence, with strong interpersonal, team building, and conflict resolution skills.Adept at LEAN Manufacturing, 5S methodology, and Six Sigma principles to drive continuous improvement and waste reduction.Ability to analyze production metrics and implement strategic changes to improve throughput and efficiency.Strong project management skills with the ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and manage complex timelines.Committed to employee development, with a track record of mentoring, training, and upskilling machinists and shop personnel.Exceptional communication skills—able to effectively collaborate across departments and present performance updates to leadership.Familiarity with safety regulations (OSHA, ISO) and ability to foster a culture of safety and accountability on the shop floor.Experience managing capital equipment procurement and maintenance schedules.
