Job Purpose and Impact
The Maintenance Manager will oversee and implement best-practice maintenance strategies that support production requirements across AG&T (crush and refinery). In this role, you will lead a team responsible for performing routine and complex maintenance activities to sustain and enhance asset availability, operational reliability, and quality standards at Riesa site. We are seeking an experienced professional with strong interpersonal and leadership skills who can promote a culture focused on safety, quality, and cost-effective maintenance performance.
Key Accountabilities
- Develop and implement a maintenance strategy aligned with the company's best practices for rapeseed and sunflower seed crush, refinery, and plant utilities, leveraging a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
- Manage the department budget, including planning, monthly performance assessments, and the implementation of corrective actions when variances occur.
- Collaborate and coordinate with other plant functions to effectively support the production process.
- Ensure all maintenance work is carried out in accordance with safety guidelines to protect the health and wellbeing of all employees.
- Prioritize maintenance activities based on established plans, assigned tasks, and available budget.
- Oversee maintenance execution to minimize disruptions to production and maintain asset reliability.
- Lead and develop a multidisciplinary team (mechanical and electrical), providing coaching and making decisions related to talent management, recruitment, performance, and corrective actions when needed.
- Coordinate investigations of equipment failures, downtime, and production losses, identifying opportunities to improve reliability or mitigate risks.
Implement base CAPEX projects within the maintenance scope.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Proven experience in a production environment, specifically within maintenance operations.
- Experience in leading or managing teams, with the ability to motivate and coordinate staff.
- Experience in task management in several areas (electrics, mechanics, instrumentation).
- English proficiency (Intermediate) and German proficiency (Advanced)
- Demonstrated experience in budget planning and cost control within a maintenance function.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in project management, including planning, execution, and stakeholder coordination.
- Knowledge of Process Safety principles, including ATEX requirements.
- Proficiency in SAP or similar enterprise maintenance/operations systems.
- Strong conflict-management skills, with the ability to navigate and resolve complex situations constructively.
