Job overview and responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, repair and complete preventative maintenance on Ground Service Equipment (both motorized and non-motorized)
• Work will include diagnostic testing and repair of gas engines, transmissions, suspension and brake systems
• Troubleshooting and repair of diesel engines, heavy industrial equipment, including large aircraft air conditioners, air start and ground electrical power units
• Climbing and working from ladders, and/or walking for extended periods of time
• Moderate lifting
• Work may be performed on the ramp (terminal or hangar area), or other outdoor and indoor airport areas where employees may be exposed to a wide variety of weather conditions, noise and fumes for extended periods
• Indoor work may require exposure to noise, ground equipment and machinery, and exposure to chemical and petroleum fuel fumes
• Demonstrate working knowledge of basic shop safety rules and procedures
• Ground Equipment Mechanics must be able to work around the clock shifts, including weekends and holidays, in the outdoors in all weather conditions
• Related experience is a plus
• Ground Service Equipment Technicians are represented by the Union del Personal de Entes Privados (UPADEP)
• Schedules are bid and awarded according to seniority

This position is offered on local terms and conditions. Expatriate assignments and sponsorship for employment visas, even on a time-limited visa status, will not be awarded.

Qualifications

What's needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications):

• Must have a high school diploma, GED or equivalent Trade School completion
• Must possess a valid driver's license
• 2 years of experience with troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of gas and diesel engines, electrical and hydraulic systems, and motorized equipment
• Ability to work any shift assigned (nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed) within 24/7 operation
• Computer experience for input and retrieval of data
• Ability to climb and work from ladders, and/or walk for extended periods
• Ability to work outdoors in all temperatures and weather conditions
• Ability to work in an environment with exposure to high noise levels
• Moderate lifting
• Hold a valid passport
• Must be able to acquire a visa for travel to United States
• Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position
• Must be legally authorized to work in Argentina for any employer without sponsorship
• Must be fluent in English and Spanish (written and spoken)
• Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification
