Description
Position SummaryThis position is crucial within the engineering team, providing technical design expertise in supporting systems projects from initial concept, through development to final production release of the equipment. The job holder would contribute to the technical output of the team on mainly hydraulic components and systems projects on customer applications in Japan and abroad.
Responsibilities
Knowledge and experience for hydraulic components; pump, motor, valve, cylinder, cartridge valves, Accumulator etc.
Knowledge and experience for electric system and components; controller, motor, inverter, etc.
Software knowledge, experience with programming capability.
Application experience with mobile and industrial equipment.
Capability for utilizing test device for equipment.
Design and produce technical drawings for the components and system projects
Produce supporting product manuals, process and project documentation.
Develop the products and systems within the design team
Provide Engineering support to the business unit as required
Liaise with customers on assigned projects
Produce and review engineering documents, understand customer requirements and provide responses to technical issues.
Support business development activities
Produce technical proposals and quotations for components and system and sub-system projects
Technical sign-off for mechanical designs produced by the department.
Lead the design review process for product release
Ensures the technical excellence and compliance of the projects within the business unit
Contribute to improve the way of working within the department
Liaise with all internal departments to gain understanding / input and ensure a smooth transition of the projects into production.
Liaise with Quality and EHS departments to ensure standards are maintained.
Experience for working with OEM customer.
Experience for trouble shooting with customer
Experience for hydraulic component introduction to others
Work within a lean environment and adopt lean principles
Qualifications
Degree qualified in engineering discipline and 5 years minimum experience
Strong engineering capability including hydraulic components and systems knowledge and experience
Excellent report writing and presentation skills
Experience of compiling detailed technical drawings
Excellent communication, interpersonal and team working skills.
Flexible approach to work
Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
A good understanding of lean principles and managing safety
Native level Japanse and buisiness level English skill essential
