Description

The Division of Engineering at New York University Abu Dhabi (NYUAD) invites applications for an open-rank (Assistant, Associate, or Full), tenured, or tenure-track faculty position in the Computer Engineering program. We seek candidates with a research focus on the theoretical foundations and practical applications of advanced machine learning techniques. Emphasis will be given to theoretical approaches in machine learning for real-world applications, with a preferred focus on optimization, data-efficient machine learning, approximate inference, statistical machine learning, continual learning, distributed machine learning, and the security and privacy aspects of machine learning. These areas have applications in various fields, such as healthcare, finance, transportation, education, and entertainment.

The successful candidate will have a strong record of research excellence, demonstrated through high-impact publications, and a clear potential to lead a successful research program. In addition to research, candidates should demonstrate excellent teaching skills or potential in the core and advanced subjects of the Computer Engineering program, including Operating Systems, Data Structures, Algorithms, Optimization, Machine Learning, Reinforcement Learning, Computer Vision, and Pattern Recognition, and should be willing to contribute to curriculum development.
