Description
The Senior Analyst will partner with business and operations technology teams to help define and execute strategic initiatives that advance toward achieving projected outcomes. The role will primarily focus on supporting our Co-brand partners while developing a deep understanding and expertise across all United customer and loyalty data. The role requires business intuition, an ability to use analytical tools for business advancement, organizational skills, and proficient communication skills across both business and technical roles.
Job overview and responsibilities
- Leverage data from a variety of sources to analyze business performance, identify areas of opportunity, and provide actionable insights to operations leaders and front-line personnel
- Partner with business stakeholders to identify key initiatives, and engage data analytics team members to execute delivery of sustainable solutions to business problems, using data analysis, advanced analytics and data engineering best practices
- Test data and/or applications to validate data accuracy/quality
- Track small to medium-sized projects from ideation to completion, including helping to create project roadmaps, project plans and requirements documentation
- Lead status meetings and manage frequent status communication to business stakeholders, IT teams, and senior leadership as required
NOTE: This position provides a hybrid work arrangement including approximately 50% of the time spent working onsite at our Chicago office location and 50% remotely.
Qualifications
What's needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications):
- Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field (statistics, engineering, business analytics, information systems, aviation management or related degree preferred)
- 3+ years of related full-time experience or successful completion of United DT Early Career Digital Leadership Program (ECDLP)
- Experience working with large datasets and reporting or visualization tools, ability to tell a story using data
- Familiarity with database interface tools, SQL and programming concepts
- Passionate about data analytics and visionary for how it can be applied, with strong strategic/critical thinking and problem-solving skills to complement
- Ability to thrive in project environments that often start with uncertain requirements or outcomes
- Ability to put definition and structure around problems and projects
- Strong organization skills, and strong attention to detail
- Ability to communicate complex quantitative concepts in a clear, precise and actionable manner
- Outstanding writing, communication and presentation skills
- Proven proficiency with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
- Must be a team focused individual
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship
- Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification
- Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position
What will help you propel from the pack (Preferred Qualifications):
- Master's degree
- Advanced Degree in Data Sciences
- Experience with statistical tools and concepts (R, SPSS)
- Experience with programming language such as Python or Pyspark
- Experience with Tableau, Spotfire or other visualization tools
- Experience with advanced statistical analysis and modeling including linear regression, segmentation, non-linear predictive (e.g. logistic) regression and machine learning
- Experience working within various facets of an airline operation
- Experience with marketing and/or loyalty data a plus
The base pay range for this role is $87,780.00 to $114,376.00.
The base salary range/hourly rate listed is dependent on job-related, factors such as experience, education, and skills. This position is also eligible for bonus and/or long-term incentive compensation awards.
