This role is responsible for shaping clear, compelling, and executive‑ready narratives around clinical product strategy, performance, and maturity-while ensuring the operating discipline, alignment, and transparency required to deliver measurable outcomes.
Partnering closely with Clinical Product executives, Aetna Technology, and the Aetna Product Center of Excellence (COE), this role helps define priorities, establish scalable product operating practices, and develop integrated communications for business updates, product strategy, roadmaps, and enterprise initiatives. The Senior Manager serves as a trusted advisor to leadership, translating complex product, technical, and delivery concepts into concise, audience‑appropriate messaging that supports alignment and decision‑making.
As the owner of Clinical Product Management OKR and Product Maturity communications and operating rhythms, this role is accountable for gathering, validating, and synthesizing inputs across product, technology, UX, engineering, and delivery teams. The role ensures leaders have a clear, shared understanding of progress, risks, dependencies, and opportunities-supported by consistent governance, portfolio visibility, and execution insights.
Serving as a connective layer and designated point of contact beyond Product, the Senior Manager drives clarity, consistency, and accountability across executive communications, OKR management, roadmap execution, and product optimization. This balance of communications leadership and product operations enables continuous improvement, stronger alignment, and sustained value delivery across the clinical product portfolio.
Executive Communications, Narrative & Leadership Alignment
• Serve as the central integrator and communicator of Clinical Product Management performance, maturity, and portfolio health for senior leadership.
• Translate complex product, platform, and technical information into clear, leadership‑ready narratives focused on outcomes, risks, tradeoffs, and decisions.
• Own the regular communication and reporting of Clinical Product OKR progress, outcomes, and risks to Product and Technology leadership, ensuring updates are concise, consistent, and decision‑ready.
• Support leadership‑facing materials including business reviews, roadmap forums, OKR readouts, operating reviews, and select enterprise or Board‑level updates as part of broader product governance and accountability.
• OKR Strategy, Alignment & Operating Discipline
• Lead the identification, alignment, and ongoing tracking of Clinical Product Management OKRs in partnership with Product, Technology, and the Product Office.
• Ensure OKRs are outcome‑oriented, measurable, and clearly linked to enterprise strategy, clinical priorities, and platform‑level execution.
• Establish standardized artifacts, cadences, and narratives for OKR reviews, health checks, and performance discussions.
• Establish and sustain operating rhythms that support consistent planning, performance review, and portfolio optimization across Clinical Product teams.
Product Maturity, Governance & Portfolio Visibility
• In close collaboration with the Product Office, own the definition, tracking, and communication of Clinical Product Maturity Scorecards, providing leadership visibility across dimensions such as outcomes, usability, UX, scalability, technical health, and operational readiness.
• Establish and evolve product governance frameworks in close partnership with the Product Office to drive consistency, accountability, and product excellence.
• Use insights from OKRs, maturity assessments, and delivery performance to inform continuous improvement and optimization opportunities across the portfolio.
Cross‑Functional Integration & Execution Enablement
• In close collaboration with the Product Office, partner with Product and Engineering Leads to align prioritization approaches, scoring models, and decision frameworks across Clinical Product teams.
• Support roadmap management practices by ensuring roadmaps are outcome‑driven, maturity‑informed, and aligned across platforms and delivery teams.
• Serve as a designated point of contact beyond Product, integrating inputs from Engineering, Delivery, UX, and the COE into a unified leadership narrative.
UX, Innovation & Ways of Working
• Partner with UX, Product, and COE leaders to reinforce member‑ and clinician‑centered design principles, ensuring UX imperatives are embedded, measured, and communicated.
• Enable structured innovation approaches, including experimentation, learning cycles, and evaluation of new product concepts.
• Develop and maintain playbooks, templates, and guidance that define standard ways of working across product operations, OKRs, maturity, and governance.
• Partner with the Product Office to design and deliver training and enablement materials that strengthen product management capability and operational maturity.
Required Qualifications
• 8+ years of experience in product operations, product management, portfolio management, or strategy within healthcare, technology, or regulated environments
Preferred Qualifications
• Demonstrated experience owning OKR processes, performance communication, and portfolio-level reporting
• Proven ability to partner effectively with a Product Office or similar centralized product governance function
• Strong ability to influence cross-functional leaders and drive alignment in a matrixed organization
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Business, Healthcare, Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
Pay Range
The typical pay range for this role is:
$118,450.00 - $284,280.00
This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above. This position also includes an award target in the company's equity award program.
