Senior Manager, Software Engineering - 2332096EMPLOYER: Optum Services Inc.
JOB TITLE: Senior Manager, Software Engineering
LOCATION: 1 Optum Circle, Eden Prairie, MN 55344 (Telecommuting available from anywhere in the U.S.)
DUTIES: Plan, direct, or coordinate activities in such fields as electronic data processing, information systems, systems analysis, and computer programming; Engage with product and technology leaders to gain understanding of the business strategy, vision and priority; Lead multiple engineering/feature teams and drive operational excellence; Implement Agile software development and automation across all technology platforms; Identify gaps in skills and align those gaps to the upskilling curriculum, using influence to reprioritize as needed; Participate in Scrum Ceremonies (Daily Scrum, Refinement, Sprint Review, Retrospectives, Product Demos); Serve as a partner to the Product Management team to improve operational excellence, identifying areas of opportunity as well as celebrate successes; Serve as technical co-owner-in partnership with other Principal Engineers for the solutions; Partners with the Lead Software Engineers and teams when security vulnerabilities, issues or remediation's are required and resolve within the security guidelines; Provides guidance to the teams during product refinement, analysis, solutioning, and delivery of the work; Provide meaningful feedback as people manager, conduct regular 1:1s, team meetings; and Keep current with modern technologies and enterprise systems to maintain a wide body of knowledge; regularly teach concepts for colleagues. Provides leadership to and is accountable for the performance of managers and/or senior level professional staff; Ensure that delivery frameworks and best practices are understood and enacted by the team; Conduct/participate in leadership meetings, PI Planning, Product meetings, review meetings, and other meetings for the leadership team; Lead projects by collaborating with enterprise and/or external teams, coordinating execution and delivery, and reporting on accomplishments and progress; Demonstrate thought leadership by engaging with the enterprise through speaking, learning forums, etc.; Foster a culture of continuous improvement through mentoring, feedback, and metrics. Telecommuting is available from anywhere in the U.S.
REQUIREMENTS: Employer will accept a Master's degree in Computer Science or related field and two (2) years of experience in the job offered or in a technology-related occupation. Position requires two (2) years of experience in the following: Roadmap planning, prioritizing projects, and resource allocation. Implementing best practices, code reviews, and testing procedures to ensure high standards of software quality; Healthcare domain; Azure cloud platform; Architectural patterns such as microservices or event-driven, containers; Software development methodologies such as Agile, Scrum, or Kanban; programming languages such as C#, Asp.net, or JavaScript; DevOps practices and tools such as Jenkins, GitHub, CI/CD, or Docker; and Microsoft Visual Studio 2019/2022, Microsoft Windows OS, Microsoft SQL Server, Microsoft Office, Xamarin, GitHub, Rally, or Microsoft Visio 2000/2003.
RATE OF PAY: $176,377.00 - $236,775.00/per year
