Commonwealth Rolled Products is a leading manufacturer of Aluminum rolled products for the Automotive, Commercial, and Industrial markets. The Company operates its production facility in Lewisport, KY with the support of an Automotive Innovation Center for R&D, Sales and Field Service in Madison Heights (DET), and Inside Sales in the Cleveland, OH area.
Our production facility is seeking to add a talented Senior Reliability Manager to its Operations leadership team. The purpose of this role is to drive a plant-wide reliability strategy and improvements to increase safety, stability, and efficiency of plant operations.
Responsibilities Include:
- Actively encourage and maintain a zero-incident safety culture.
- Live and champion the Commonwealth Rolled Products core values: Safety, Integrity, Customer Focus, Ownership, Excellence, and Teamwork.
- Plant reliability champion to lead the development and implementation of strategies to ensure 24/7 reliability and maintainability of equipment, processes, utilities, facilities, controls and safety/security systems.
- Oversee plant-wide condition-based maintenance programs including vibration analysis, lubrication and thermography.
- Drive investigations into equipment failures to determine root cause and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence by partnering with area Business Leads and Maintenance & Engineering teams.
- Manage, mentor and train direct report(s) and indirect reports to improve technical capabilities.
- Communicate to the leadership team on key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Collaborate with project engineering to ensure the reliability and maintainability of new and modified installations by using the life cycle asset management process.
- Partner with operational areas in the development, and evaluation, of criteria for equipment and technical MRO suppliers and technical maintenance service providers.
- Key link in repair process between parts repair vendors, procurement and operations.
- Oversee the asset maintenance plan; to include value added preventive maintenance tasks; and predictive testing methodologies to identify reliability issues. Plant champion for critical spares evaluation and process improvements.
- Provides input to risk management plan that anticipates reliability-related and non-reliability related events that could adversely impact plant operations.
- Develops and directs engineering solutions to repetitive failures and other issues that adversely affect plant operations, such as capacity, cost, quality, or regulatory compliance issues, by using data analysis techniques such as Six Sigma, Weibull analysis, statistical process control, reliability modeling and prediction, and root cause analysis, among others.
- Defines and implements optimal lubrication strategies and lubricant selection to support equipment reliability, longevity, and cost-effective maintenance.
- Work with area business units to plan and execute plant wide reliability training.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical or a related technical field and at least seven (7) years of experience in the maintenance and/or operation of a heavy industrial manufacturing facility or fifteen (15) plus years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
- 5+ years of managerial experience in an industrial environment including the supervision of hourly and salaried workforce.
- Expertise in predictive technologies, reliability methodologies (RCM, FMEA, PM/PdM) and CMMS.
- Technical and process management skills with potential ability to work multiple projects simultaneously.
- Ability to lead cross-functional teams.
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in the aluminum industry.
- Experience with the rolling process.
- Experience working in a Union environment.
- Knowledge of continuous improvement processes.
