Position Summary

The Sr. Project Manager will lead the planning, execution, and delivery of data center projects in Egypt, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and within budget. This role will coordinate multidisciplinary teams including engineering, construction, IT, operations, finance, and external vendors to deliver world-class data center facilities that meet stringent performance, safety, and compliance requirements.

Key Responsibilities

1. Project Planning & Execution

• Develop comprehensive project plans, schedules, budgets, and risk registers for data center builds or expansions.
• Oversee the full project lifecycle from concept design through commissioning and handover.
• Manage procurement processes, tender evaluations, contract negotiations, and vendor selection.

2. Stakeholder Management

• Serve as the primary point of contact between internal teams, contractors, consultants, and external partners.
• Facilitate regular project meetings, progress updates, and reporting to leadership.
• Ensure alignment with global standards, customer requirements, and business objectives.

3. Technical & Compliance Oversight

• Coordinate with engineering teams on mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems, critical power infrastructure, cooling, and network integration.
• Ensure adherence to international data center standards (e.g., Uptime Institute Tier Standards, ISO, NFPA, ASHRAE).
• Monitor compliance with Egyptian regulations, permits, environmental guidelines, and safety protocols.

4. Financial & Budget Management

• Prepare and manage project budgets, cost estimates, and financial forecasts.
• Track project expenditures, identify variances, and implement corrective actions when necessary.
• Drive cost optimization without compromising quality or reliability.

5. Risk, Quality & Safety Management

• Identify project risks early and develop mitigation strategies.
• Implement quality assurance processes across construction, installation, and commissioning phases.
• Enforce strict health & safety standards aligned with Egyptian laws and global best practices.

6. Commissioning & Handover

• Oversee testing, commissioning, and validation of critical infrastructure systems.
• Ensure all documentation, training, and operational readiness activities are completed for a smooth handover to operations teams.
• Conduct post-project reviews to capture lessons learned.

Requirements
Job Requirements (Senior Role - Data Centers)

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, or related field).
• Master's degree in Engineering, Project Management, or Business Administration is a strong plus.
• 10-15+ years of total experience, with at least 7+ years managing large-scale data center, mission-critical, or hyperscale infrastructure projects.
• Proven track record delivering multi-million EUR/USD capital projects in Egypt or the MENA region.
