Reporting to the Director of Public Works, you’ll combine technical excellence and project leadership, handling everything from design reviews and estimating to construction oversight and regulatory compliance. This is a pivotal role for a licensed Professional Engineer who thrives in both the office and the field.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a related field required.
- Minimum of five years’ experience in public works design and/or construction required.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred and strongly encouraged.
- Strong understanding of civil engineering and surveying principles, especially for municipal and capital projects.
- Familiarity with construction methods, materials, safety procedures, and public funding expected.
- Understanding of funding opportunities and grants for public works projects.
- Proficiency with engineering software and basic surveying equipment required.
- Valid Massachusetts Class D driver’s license required
