Arthrex Manufacturing Inc. is actively searching for an Equipment Setup Technician for First Shift. The candidate for this position must be able to set up and operate advanced assembly, packaging, and inspection equipment. Additional responsibilities are to maintain production tooling inventories and perform unscheduled tool maintenance. A high school diploma, 2 years of manufacturing experience related to technical and mechanical aspects of manufacturing, and 1 year of experience with advanced packaging and assembly equipment are required. The shift hours are 7:00 am-3:30 pm, Monday-Friday
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Performs setup and operation of advanced final device assembly and packaging/inspection equipment according to established work instructions and within validated parameters.
Performs daily shift startup checks on all operating production lines.
Coordinates with Maintenance and Engineering to evaluate, troubleshoot, and resolve equipment malfunctions.
Enters equipment maintenance orders into ERP system ensuring equipment is properly tagged/locked out. Tracks and reports status of down equipment and fixtures and coordinates release with Engineering.
Responsible for verifying and documenting calibration status, machine settings, and test results as required per established work instructions and data collection forms for the Device History Record.
Maintain validated state of tools, fixtures, label printers, and assembly/packaging equipment.
Performs and documents daily tool reconciliation.
Responsible for proper storage, control, and identification of tooling and fixtures.
Responsible for in-process inspection as defined in established work instructions including use of micrometers and various gauges, cameras, and inspection fixtures.
Produces samples for QC inspection; analyzes minor quality issues and takes corrective action.
Functions as backup Production Coordinator as required by business needs/growth with additional training as needed.
Supports Packaging Machine setups (pouch sealers/blister sealers) by verifying sealing settings are within validated ranges, inspecting pouch sealer tape and Alloyd heat plates, and inspecting and replacing blister tool gaskets and pins as needed.
Verifies proper electrical and pneumatic connections of all equipment. Ensures power cords, cables, and airlines are properly restrained.
Verifies burst test fixtures are in good repair and fixture needle tips are present and undamaged, replacing as necessary.
Verify functionality of all room air ionizers.
Responsible for using personal protective equipment as required and insuring compliance with Lockout/Tagout procedures.
Must comply with all safety regulations and Arthrex guidelines.
Suggests process and safety improvement ideas.
Education and Experience:
High School Diploma or equivalent required.
2 years of manufacturing experience related to technical and mechanical aspects of manufacturing required.
1 year experience with advanced packaging and assembly equipment required.
Exposure to robotic assembly equipment preferred.
Knowledge and Skill Requirements/Specialized Courses and/or Training:
Ability to perform tasks by reading, understanding and following work instructions provided
Ability to interpret Bills of Material, Routers, engineering drawings and schematic diagrams
Ability to work independently
Ability to troubleshoot equipment failures using a systematic approach
Ability to use inspection tools and measuring devices to assure quality of product
Ability to comprehend and apply language skills to the degree required to perform the job based upon the job requirements listed above. Ability to verbally communicate ideas and issues effectively to other team members and management. Ability to write and record data and information as required by procedures.
Physical Demands:
Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.
