About the Role:
As Head of Financial Planning & Analysis for P&C Re in Americas, you operate at the intersection of finance and strategy, providing critical insights that inform business decisions and drive performance across the region.
Leading a high-performing regional finance team, you will act as a trusted advisor to market leadership while advancing our finance transformation agenda. You will report directly to the Global CFO for P&C Re and play a key role within the P&C Re Finance Leadership Team.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Business Advisory
Lead the regional strategic and financial planning processes, ensuring alignment between financial targets and business ambitions
Provide rigorous financial analysis and reporting to support underwriting, renewal steering, and portfolio optimization
Advise on business initiatives, large transactions, and capital allocation decisions
Identify growth and continuous improvement opportunities based on data-driven insights
People Leadership
Lead and develop a diverse team of finance professionals across the region
Build a culture of accountability, collaboration, and solutions-orientation
Attract and retain top talent while fostering succession readiness
Financial Reporting
Ensure clear, consistent communication of financial performance across the Americas through insightful and transparent reporting.
Deliver insightful variance analysis, projections, and scenario planning
Link business outcomes to financial results and KPIs, translating them into a clear IFRS-aligned narrative that strengthens profitability steering through actionable insights.
Governance, Risk & Controls
Establish financial procedures and controls in accordance with Group guidelines
Partner effectively with internal and external auditors to ensure strong financial controls and transparency across your areas of responsibility
Uphold transparency, integrity, and financial discipline
Process & Transformation Leadership
Simplify and enhance financial processes to enable market teams to focus on business origination
Lead and contribute to strategic projects supporting Market Units in assessing and delivering on large transactions

P&C Re Americas is a key contributor to our global reinsurance portfolio, serving clients across North America, Latin America, and the Caribbean. The business spans a broad range of Property & Casualty lines and operates across diverse market environments, balancing growth, profitability, and capital discipline.
As Head FP&A P&C Re Americas, you will act as a strategic finance partner to regional market leadership, supporting performance steering across multiple markets and product lines. You will work closely with underwriting, actuarial, and portfolio management teams to translate business performance into forward-looking financial insights.
Reporting to the CFO P&C Re and serving on the P&C Re Finance Leadership Team, you will collaborate with regional finance colleagues and leverage centralized support to advance transparency, profitability steering, and finance transformation across the Americas platform.

Professional Experience & Qualifications
10+ years of relevant finance experience, including at least 5 years in leadership roles
Extensive experience within the insurance or reinsurance industry is essential, including a demonstrated understanding of underwriting performance drivers, reserving methodologies, and capital implications
Proven track record in Financial Planning and Analysis
Strong understanding of financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning processes
Solid understanding of Americas market dynamics
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or related field; professional qualification (CPA, ACCA, CFA) preferred
Additional Experience & Competencies
Experience leading finance transformation initiatives and financial system implementations
Knowledge of IFRS 17 implementation and implications
Experience in leading remote/distributed teams across multiple locations
Technology affine, using AI to accelerate delivery and improve outcomes
Proficiency in relevant Americas languages
Background in risk management or actuarial concepts
Solutions-oriented mindset
The position is flexible to our Armonk, NY or Kansas City, MO offices. Our company has a hybrid work model where the expectation is that you will be in the office three days per week.
For Armonk, NY, the estimated base salary range for this position is $188,000 to $282,000. The specific salary offered for this or any given role will take into account a number of factors including but not limited to job location, scope of role, qualifications, complexity/specialization/scarcity of talent, experience, education, and employer budget. At Swiss Re, we take a "total compensation approach" when making compensation decisions. This means that we consider all components of compensation in their totality (such as base pay, short-and long-term incentives, and benefits offered), in setting individual compensation.
For Kansas City, MO, the estimated base salary range for this position is $176,000 to $264,000. The specific salary offered for this or any given role will take into account a number of factors including but not limited to job location, scope of role, qualifications, complexity/specialization/scarcity of talent, experience, education, and employer budget.
