Position Summary
The Assistant Executive Housekeeper plays a key leadership role in supporting the overall operation of the Housekeeping Department, ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness, presentation, safety, and service throughout the hotel. This position assists in overseeing housekeeping operations for guestrooms, public areas, laundry, and overnight cleaning functions while fostering a culture of excellence among team members.
Reporting directly to the Executive Housekeeper, the Assistant Executive Housekeeper is responsible for driving departmental standards, supporting colleague engagement and development, maintaining Hyatt brand expectations, and delivering an exceptional guest experience consistent with The Driskill's luxury service standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the daily oversight of all housekeeping operations, including guestrooms, public spaces, laundry, and overnight cleaning teams.
- Ensure all guest rooms and public areas consistently meet Hyatt brand standards and luxury hospitality expectations.
- Support inventory management, purchasing, and maintenance of housekeeping and laundry supplies, equipment, and par levels.
- Monitor and ensure compliance with all safety, sanitation, and security policies and procedures.
- Assist with recruiting, training, coaching, scheduling, and performance management of housekeeping colleagues.
- Conduct inspections of guestrooms and public spaces to ensure quality assurance standards are consistently achieved.
- Collaborate closely with Front Office, Engineering, Rooms Operations, and other hotel departments to ensure seamless guest experiences.
- Support the execution of VIP arrivals, turndown service, special requests, and accommodations for dignitaries and high-profile guests.
- Promote a positive and inclusive work environment that drives colleague engagement, accountability, and professional growth.
- Address guest concerns promptly and professionally, ensuring timely resolution and guest satisfaction.
- Support departmental productivity goals and expense management while maintaining exceptional service standards.

Qualifications
• Minimum of 2 years of leadership experience in hotel housekeeping or rooms operations, preferably within an upscale or luxury hotel environment.
• Demonstrated success leading teams in a fast-paced hospitality setting.
• Strong knowledge of housekeeping operations, inventory management, cleaning procedures, and laundry operations.
• Exceptional organizational, administrative, and time management skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively engage diverse guests and colleagues.
• Proven ability to lead, motivate, coach, and develop team members.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Hospitality or Hotel Management degree preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel.
• Bilingual Spanish language skills are preferred.
• Availability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Passion for delivering outstanding guest service with a genuine desire to exceed expectations.
