Position Description
The Mechanical BIM/CADD Technician role is an on site position based in our Boise, Idaho office. What does this role involve day to day? You will work under the direction of senior engineers and designers to translate design concepts into accurate, buildable drawings. What will I create? Using Autodesk MEP Revit and AutoCAD, you will produce three dimensional models, construction documents, plans, schedules, and details for HVAC and plumbing systems, along with take offs and as built documentation from site surveys. What does success look like? You will become a reliable source of accurate, well coordinated drawings that engineers and designers can build on with confidence, while sharpening your technical skills alongside a growing mechanical team with years of combined experience.
This role also gives you exposure to quality control, cross discipline coordination, and will help in building a strong technical foundation for growth within the mechanical team.
Position Salary Range*
The expected salary range for this position is $20 to $25 per hour.
Required Qualifications**
- Associate degree or higher in computer technology, drafting and design, integrated arts, animation and modeling, or a related field
- 0 to 5 years of job related experience
- Basic knowledge of Autodesk MEP Revit, AutoCAD, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Mathematical and systems design skills
Preferred Qualifications**
- Prior exposure to mechanical, HVAC, or plumbing system drawings
- Familiarity with construction documentation workflows in an AEC environment

Position Responsibilities***
- Prepare and update drawings using office standards and design criteria provided by supervising engineers
- Produce construction documents using Autodesk MEP Revit building information modeling software
- Draft plans, schedules, details, controls, and flow diagrams for HVAC and plumbing systems under engineer or designer supervision
- Coordinate drawing production and communicate changes across departments to keep documents aligned
- Develop CADD based documents and details from red line markups provided by supervisors or senior team members
- Perform basic architectural and engineering calculations and material take offs
- Conduct site surveys under engineer or designer direction to document existing HVAC and plumbing conditions for as built drawings

*Actual pay will be determined based on the candidate's years of experience, licensure status, location, level of proficiency, and other job related factors (as permitted by law). This position is also eligible for an annual performance bonus.
