(Additional vacancies possible pending budget approval)
Starting Salary: $75,336.00 annually
This position is open to the public and all current City employees covered under the City's collective bargaining agreement with AMERICAN FEDERATION OF STATE, COUNTY, AND MUNICIPAL EMPLOYEES (AFSCME) - BARGAINING UNIT 1, 3, 4 & 5. Only employees in City job titles in this bargaining unit are eligible to bid.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES
• Serves as bridge between business and IT teams, aligning software objectives with business needs.
• Gathers business requirements through interviews, workshops, and other methods.
• Translates user needs into detailed functional requirements.
• Evaluates technical options and communicates trade-offs to stakeholders.
• Facilitates prioritization of requirements among competing stakeholder needs.
• Creates essential documentation including process flows and scope documents.
• Supports development teams during implementation and testing.
• Reviews deliverables to ensure requirements are correctly implemented.
• Identifies process inefficiencies and improvement opportunities.
• Manages and prioritizes information requests, ensuring deadlines are met.
• Creates and maintain process flows.
• Creates and maintains presentations for the Technology Strategy Group as well as the Architecture Team.
Additional duties may be required for this position.
Location: 2 N. LaSalle St., Suite 1010, Chicago, IL 60602
Days: Monday through Friday
Hours: 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM
THIS POSITION IS IN THE CAREER SERVICE
Qualifications
Six (6) years of work experience in business analysis or system analysis,
OR
graduation from an accredited college or university with an associate degree, plus four (4) years of work experience in business analysis or system analysis,
OR
graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree, plus two (2) years of work experience in business analysis or system analysis,
OR
graduation from an accredited college or university with a master's degree or higher, plus one (1) year of work experience in business analysis or system analysis.
Licensure, Certification, or Other Qualifications is preferred
• Business analysis certification (e.g., CBAP) is preferred
• Professional certification in agile methodologies
SELECTION REQUIREMENTS
This position requires applicants to successfully complete an interview. The interviewed candidate(s) possessing the qualifications best suited to fulfill the responsibilities of the position, based on the oral and written parts of the interview will be selected.
