Civil Engineer I:
The successful applicant for this position will be hired within an annualized salary range of $80,170 - $93,928, depending on qualifications for the position. The maximum in this pay scale is $109,957. A bachelor's degree in civil engineering, geotechnical engineering, engineering geology, or geology is required. This position is entry level and no experience is required, but consideration will be given for experience in the areas of dam safety, structures, water resources, or geotechnical engineering. A Washington State Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or Geologist-in-Training (GIT) certificate is desired.

Civil Engineer II:
The successful applicant for this position will be hired within an annualized salary range of $96,647 - $118,354, depending on qualifications for the position. The maximum in this pay scale is $140,061. A bachelor's degree in civil engineering, geotechnical engineering, engineering geology, or geology is required. Must have at least three (3) years experience performing civil engineering related to hydropower generation, dam safety, structures, water resources, and/or geotechnical engineering analyses. Experience with dam safety surveillance and monitoring, emergency action planning, slope stability analyses, dam inspections, and/or experience in seismic design and analysis is preferred. A Washington State Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or Geologist-in-Training (GIT) certificate is required.

The maximum in this pay scale is $154,484. A bachelor's degree in civil engineering, geotechnical engineering, engineering geology, or geology is required. Must have at least five (5) years of progressively responsible experience performing civil engineering related to hydropower generation, dam safety, structures, water resources, and/or geotechnical engineering analyses. Experience should include dam safety surveillance and monitoring, emergency action planning, slope stability analyses, dam inspections, and/or experience in seismic design and analysis. A Washington State Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or Geologist-in-Training (GIT) certificate is required. A Washington State-licensed Professional Engineer (PE), Licensed Geologist (LG), or Licensed Engineering Geologist (LEG) is desired.

Senior Civil Engineer:
The successful applicant for this position will be hired within an annualized salary range of $115,158 - $141,823, depending on qualifications for the position. The maximum in this pay scale is $168,488. A bachelor's degree in civil engineering, geotechnical engineering, engineering geology, or geology is required. Must have at least seven (7) years of progressively responsible experience performing civil engineering related to hydropower generation, dam safety, structures, water resources, and/or geotechnical engineering analyses. Must have experience with dam safety surveillance and monitoring, emergency action planning, slope stability analyses, dam inspections, and/or experience in seismic design and analysis. A Washington State Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or Geologist-in-Training (GIT) certificate is required. A Washington State-licensed Professional Engineer (PE), Licensed Geologist (LG), or Licensed Engineering Geologist (LEG) is strongly preferred.

The Civil Engineer supports the District’s dam safety program to help ensure the structural integrity and operational safety of the Wells Hydroelectric Project through instrumentation monitoring, dam inspections and engineering evaluations. This position works closely with a multi-disciplinary team of engineers, consultants, and craftspeople at the Wells Hydroelectric Project and its related facilities. This position requires frequent travel to the Wells Hydroelectric Project.
This position will be filled at one of four levels, depending on experience and qualifications.
