Description
OverviewBabcock National is seeking an experienced and hands-on Club Manager to lead the day-to-day operations of a growing residential club community in Southwest Florida. This role requires a leader who can balance hospitality, operational discipline, financial accountability, and strong communication with residents, Board members, committees, and the onsite team.
The Club Manager will oversee the community's amenity and clubhouse operations, including food and beverage, racquet sports, fitness, pool operations, facilities, lifestyle programming, and administrative functions. Working closely with Troon leadership and the Babcock National Board of Directors, this individual will be responsible for creating a consistent club experience, developing the onsite leadership team, improving operating processes, and ensuring the community delivers a high level of service to its residents.
The ideal candidate is visible, approachable, organized, and comfortable operating in a complex HOA environment. They should be equally capable of engaging with residents, coaching department leaders, reviewing financial performance, managing vendors, addressing facility needs, and working with the Board on longer-term priorities.
This is an opportunity for a strong club or hospitality professional to take ownership of an operation that is continuing to evolve and help shape the next phase of the Babcock National resident and club experience.
Experience Required
- Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Four to six years of related experience and/or training.
- Knowledge of JONAS hospitality POS system application, hardware, and software.
- Knowledge of basic mechanical systems including electricity, plumbing, and HVAC.
- Experience in country club operations, including food and beverage and the business of golf.
- Understanding of the CHELSEA tee time lottery program and ability to become a resident expert in it.
- Frequently stands, walks, talks, and hears; regularly uses hands and reaches with arms and hands.
- Occasionally sits, stoops, kneels, crouches, or crawls.
- Regularly lifts up to 10 pounds and occasionally lifts up to 25 pounds.
- Regular and reliable attendance.
Essential Responsibilities
- Ensure efficient project management for the property.
- Oversee all projects and advise on best practices.
- Prepare and review projects and purchase orders for mechanical, engineering, computer, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and other operating systems.
- Pre-approve, receive, and maintain inventory control for project, maintenance, engineering, and equipment orders valued above $500.
- Assist with budget preparation in technical areas.
- Assist with interviewing, hiring, training, planning, assigning, directing work, evaluating performance, rewarding, and disciplining associates; address complaints and resolve problems.
- Activate appropriate emergency procedures in the event of fire, accident, weather, or medical emergency.
- Review daily projects and assign priorities as needed.
- Assist in managing department members, including engineering, building maintenance, plumbing, electrical, painting, and other mechanical and related contractors.
- Monitor projects in relation to business volume and plan accordingly in areas of manpower, productivity, costs, and other expenses.
- Relay pertinent information to key staff as needed.
- Conduct regular staff meetings with colleagues, subordinates, and related parties.
- Ensure effective orientation and training are given to each new associate and assist in developing ongoing training programs.
