A multimillion-dollar renovation has transformed our Embarcadero Center hotel's spacious guest rooms and suites into sophisticated urban retreats, with inviting modernist style in a natural palette, the latest amenities and spectacular balcony views of the city or San Francisco Bay.
The Cost Control Manager is responsible for overseeing all receiving, storeroom operations, and inventory management functions for the property. This role ensures accurate inventory control, efficient receiving processes, and proper management of supplies supporting Food & Beverage and other operational departments. The manager will also lead cost-control initiatives, implement inventory systems, and supervise storeroom staff to ensure operational efficiency and compliance with company standards.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead the implementation and management of a perpetual food inventory system to ensure accurate tracking and control of inventory levels.
• Launch and oversee a new guest and events packaging program , ensuring proper implementation, organization, and ongoing operational effectiveness.
• Supervise storeroom attendants , including scheduling shifts, managing break and lunch periods, and performing time edits for payroll accuracy.
• Determine and adjust staffing levels based on operational needs, business volume, and efficiency goals.
• Ensure receiving operations are executed properly , including verification of deliveries, accurate documentation, and adherence to receiving procedures.
• Maintain dock organization and cleanliness , ensuring a safe and efficient working environment for deliveries and storage.
• Provide oversight and operational input to the waste sorting and recycling vendor to ensure proper waste handling and sustainability practices.
• Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities through Avendra , including vendor optimization and purchasing strategies.
• Manage purchasing drop sizes to maximize Avendra program benefits and pricing efficiencies.
• Support Food & Beverage and Housekeeping ordering functions as needed to ensure operational continuity.
• Provide management support as needed to the Stewarding department such as during the Executive Steward's absence.
This is a salaried position with a compensation ranging from $61,800 to 86,600.

Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred).
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in hotel operations, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or management role within the Rooms and Food & Beverage Division.
• Strong knowledge of hotel operations, including front desk, housekeeping, and food & beverage.
• Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills.
• Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple tasks, and solve problems efficiently.
• Proficiency in hotel management software and MS Office.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
