The Executive Director of Retail Pricing is responsible for developing and implementing retail pricing strategies, aligning these with merchandising and promotional strategies, analyzing pricing performance, ensuring regulatory compliance, and leading a 25-colleague pricing organization.
Primary Job Duties & Responsibilities:
- Develops retail pricing strategy, processes and protocols for regular everyday prices including price attributes & architecture, strategic & category guardrails, executing & maintaining item prices in stores & online, and leveraging pricing optimization & implementation tools to deliver customer & business growth objectives.
- Develops business strategies with merchandising and promotional partners to align regular pricing strategies with product category objectives, promotional activities and marketing campaigns.
- Delivers pricing analytics and modeling, leveraging data and insights to drive pricing strategies and identify profitable revenue growth opportunities.
- Facilitates initiatives to analyze pricing performance metrics, evaluate pricing effectiveness, and make data-driven recommendations for improvement.
- Ensures compliance with regulatory requirements by developing and maintaining pricing policies, guidelines, and frameworks to ensure consistency.
- Communicates with cross-functional teams and stakeholders providing reporting and insights resulting from the analysis of market trends, customer insights, and competitive landscape that helps inform pricing decisions.
- Administers guidance and support to pricing leaders and teams, fostering their skills development, engagement, and experienced-based performance.
Required Qualifications:
- 15+ years of experience in retail merchandising, pricing/promotion strategy, marketing, product/technology, or related leadership roles.
- 10+ years of leadership experience. Building high performing teams, succession planning, and engaging and inspiring others.
- Strong analytical and financial acumen.
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Proven ability to lead through ambiguity and drive change in a complex, matrixed organization.
- Expertise in execution and delivery.
- Adept at business intelligence.
- Adept at collaboration and teamwork.
- Mastery of problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Mastery of growth mindset (agility and developing yourself and others).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with algorithmic pricing and/or discount strategies.
Education:
- Bachelor's degree required.
- MBA or advanced degree preferred.
Pay Range
The typical pay range for this role is:
$131,500.00 - $303,195.00
This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above. This position also includes an award target in the company's equity award program.
