Nestled on 217 acres in beautiful Southern Colorado Springs, Cheyenne Mountain Resort opened in 1985 and offers stunning mountain views, championship golf, swimming, tennis, and a variety of unique resort experiences. As a Four-Star, full-service destination resort, we pride ourselves on creating memorable guest experiences and fostering meaningful relationships with our clients.
Salary Range
$65,000 - $70,000
Incentive Opportunity
This position is eligible to participate in Hyatt's Sales Incentive Plan, providing additional earning potential based on the achievement of revenue performance goals.
Position Overview
The Group Sales Manager is a highly motivated sales professional responsible for generating group business through the sale of guest rooms, meeting space, and other resort services. This individual will manage existing accounts, solicit new business opportunities, conduct site inspections, and develop strong client relationships that drive revenue growth. This role collaborates closely with Sales, Events, Revenue Management, Operations, and Administrative teams to ensure a seamless customer experience from prospecting through event execution. The successful candidate will possess strong sales acumen, a passion for relationship-driven business development, and a proven ability to prospect, negotiate, and grow market share within a competitive hospitality environment.
Key Responsibilities
• Identify, prospect, and develop new business opportunities through telephone solicitation, sales calls, networking events, trade shows, and other lead-generation activities.
• Respond promptly to sales inquiries and cultivate strong relationships with prospective and existing clients.
• Generate, manage, track, and close leads while maintaining a healthy sales pipeline.
• Develop and execute strategic sales plans to achieve or exceed established revenue and room night goals.
• Conduct market research to identify emerging opportunities, industry trends, and competitive intelligence.
• Understand market conditions, economic trends, supply and demand factors, and competitor strengths and weaknesses to effectively position the resort.
• Manage and grow long-term client relationships that generate repeat group and corporate business.
• Monitor customer satisfaction and proactively resolve issues to ensure client retention and future business opportunities.
• Conduct property tours and site inspections while presenting the resort's amenities, accommodations, meeting spaces, and partner offerings.
• Prepare proposals, contracts, presentations, correspondence, and other sales-related documentation.
• Collaborate with the Director of Sales & Marketing and Director of Revenue Management to establish appropriate rates and pricing strategies.
• Negotiate contracts, service accounts, and evaluate lost business opportunities.
• Maintain accurate and timely records of appointments, client communications, sales activities, and account information within Hyatt systems.
Communicate detailed and timely information regarding groups, corporate accounts, and new business opportunities to hotel operations teams and food and beverage partners
Qualifications
Qualifications
• Passion for delivering exceptional customer service in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of hotel sales experience or comparable hospitality sales experience required.
• Proven ability to develop new business, manage client relationships, and consistently achieve revenue goals.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general computer applications.
• Experience with CRM and hotel sales systems preferred.
• Completion of a Hyatt Corporate Management Training Program or equivalent hospitality sales training preferred.
• Demonstrated skills in selling, negotiating, business writing, and presentations preferred.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
• Self-motivated, results-oriented, and able to work independently while contributing to team success.
