Overview
- Position: Head of Simulation (Humanoid Robot)
- Company: VinDynamics
- Division - Department: AI Robot Division
- Report to: Director of AI Robot
- Location: Hanoi, Vietnam
Lead the development of a scalable, high-fidelity simulation platform that powers training, validation, and deployment of humanoid robot intelligence, enabling seamless sim-to-real transfer.
Responsibilities
- Define and own the simulation platform architecture:
- Physics simulation (rigid and deformable body, contact dynamics)
- Sensor simulation (RGB, depth, LiDAR, IMU)
- Environment & scene generation (3D assets, synthetic data)
- Build and scale simulation using:
- Isaac Sim / Isaac Lab / Mujoco (or equivalent)
- Enable:
- Large-scale parallel simulation (GPU-based, distributed rollout)
- Training pipelines for RL, imitation learning, VLA models
- Develop sim-to-real pipelines:
- Domain randomization, system identification, calibration
- Integrate simulation with:
- ROS 2, autonomy stack, data platform
- Establish benchmarking & evaluation frameworks (task success, robustness, generalization)
- Lead engineering team and drive platform reliability and performance
Requirements
Required
- 5+ years in robotics, simulation, or AI infrastructure
- Strong experience with:
- Physics engines (PhysX, MuJoCo, Bullet)
- Robotics simulation platforms (Isaac, Gazebo, Mujoco)
- Python/C++ and GPU computing
- Experience building large-scale simulation or ML infrastructure
- Proven leadership in delivering complex technical systems
Preferred
- Experience with:
- Reinforcement Learning at scale
- Synthetic data generation and dataset pipelines
- Sim-to-real transfer for robotics
- Cloud / cluster computing (distributed simulation)
- Background in humanoid robotics or loco-manipulation
