The Lead Director, Pharmacy Evolution is a senior leader responsible for identifying, shaping, and advancing new growth opportunities within the Retail Pharmacy portfolio. This role evaluates emerging market needs, develops strategic business cases, and leads early-stage initiatives from concept through pilot to inform enterprise decisions. The role balances innovation with operational feasibility and regulatory requirements to deliver patient-centered, scalable solutions.

Roles & Responsibilities
- Lead identification and incubation of new pharmacy growth opportunities, advancing initiatives from concept through pilot execution
- Develop strategic roadmaps and business cases, including market analysis, financial modeling, risk assessment, and implementation planning
- Partner cross-functionally with operations, finance, technology, and clinical teams to align priorities and drive execution
- Influence senior leadership through data-driven insights, recommendations, and performance tracking
- Hire, lead, and develop a high-performing team (2-5 direct reports), establishing governance, milestones, and accountability
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of professional experience in strategy, innovation, consulting, healthcare, or related fields
- Demonstrated experience developing and evaluating business cases, including financial and operational analysis
- Proven ability to lead complex initiatives across multiple workstreams in a matrixed organization
- Experience managing and developing teams, with strong project management and execution skills
- Ability to work effectively in ambiguous environments and adapt to shifting priorities
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in healthcare, pharmacy, consulting, private equity, venture capital, or emerging technology strategy
- Deep understanding of patient behavior, pharmacy operations, or clinical and regulatory considerations
- Strong executive communication and stakeholder influence skills
- Experience leading change initiatives or transformation programs
- Advanced degree (MBA, MPH, PharmD, or similar)
Education
Bachelor's degree required or equivalent work experience
Pay Range
The typical pay range for this role is:
$100,000.00 - $231,540.00
This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above. This position also includes an award target in the company's equity award program.
