SummaryThe Opportunity
Hyatt seeks an enthusiastic seeks an enthusiastic Manager to join our Americas Communications team. In this role, you will act as a key member of Hyatt's Global Communications team and a trusted communications partner / resource for key leaders across the enterprise, including World of Hyatt, Brand, Openings & Conversions, Commercial Services, and others. You will lead creative, strategic external storytelling for Hyatt's largest region, leveraging a regional PR news engine to drive awareness of and preference for Hyatt hotels across the U.S. and Canada. This position will specifically support Hyatt's Classics & Essentials brand portfolios (675+ hotels) and collaborate in close partnership with global brand portfolio communications teams to ensure alignment with broader brand narratives and priorities.
This role is based in Chicago, reporting into the Director, Americas Communications. You will be part of a team that is passionate about our purpose, committed to nurturing curiosity and new skills, and building connections across the organization with colleagues, customers, and guests.

The Role
Responsibilities include support for Hyatt's Classics and Essentials brand portfolios in the United States & Canada:
• Support management of brand-level U.S. PR agencies and regional PR strategy execution, incl. news engine storytelling, pitch development and proactive/reactive PR support
• Story mine and identify compelling programming, trends and business opportunities - rooted in data and regional priorities - to position Hyatt's Classics & Essentials brands as industry leaders among target audiences
• Work with cross-functional communications teams to identify and amplify storytelling opportunities aligned to brand and business priorities
• Help bring brand PR campaigns and commercial initiatives to life across the region
• Act as day-to-day Communications resource for hotel GMs, Directors of Sales & Marketing and other property leaders: prepare, review and socialize PR materials, strategies, tools, training and resources to strengthen hotel-level storytelling and support commercial priorities
• Support openings, transitions, performance-priority hotels, and other strategic communications initiatives
• Provide counsel on PR plans and strategies, PR agency RFPs/onboarding, press trips, media visits, special project PR counsel (e.g. hotel renovations, partnerships, new restaurants)
• Cultivate relationships with key local/regional/national press to support storytelling opportunities and visibility
• Develop, edit regional communications materials, including press releases, messaging documents and briefing books, leader bios and media assets; partner with leaders and cross-functional teams on media opportunities, and speaking engagements
• Work with Director to manage regional Americas Communications budget to ensure resources are being prioritized and allocated effectively in support of regional business and communications priorities.
• Provide crisis communications support for hotel-level incidents and issues, acting as the primary point of contact for hotel teams and coordinating with Hyatt's Global Communications Strategy & Crisis Response team as appropriate
Qualifications
Experience Required:
• 7 to 8+ years of progressive experience in corporate, brand, regional, hotel or agency communications, with travel, tourism or hospitality experience strongly preferred.
• Proven experience in media relations, spokesperson support, and management of agencies or outside resources.
• Excellent writing and editing skills, with the ability to develop a wide range of communications materials including press releases, social content, scripts, speeches and executive messaging.
• Strategic, creative thinker with strong business acumen and the ability to connect communications strategies to commercial and organizational priorities.
• Proven ability to develop and execute strategic communications plans that deliver measurable results.
• Strong judgment, integrity, professionalism and discretion, with the ability to inspire confidence across all levels of the organization.
• Skilled relationship builder with excellent listening, presentation, networking and stakeholder management skills.
• Proactive problem solver who can translate complex corporate messages into clear, compelling and actionable communications.
• Highly adaptable and organized, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines and deliver high-quality work in a fast-paced, complex corporate environment.
• Collaborative, empathetic and intellectually curious, with a strong commitment to learning and continuous improvement.
• Ability to travel regionally as required, approximately 15 to 25% annually or up to 2 to 3 times per quarter.
Experience Preferred:
• Bachelor of Arts or Sciences in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or related degree
• Crisis communications experience strongly preferred.

The salary range for this position is $98,600-$125,000. This role is also eligible for an Annual Incentive Plan.
The final pay rate/salary offered to the successful candidate will depend on experience, skill level and other qualifications for the role, as well as the location of the performance of work. Pay for the successful candidate will meet local requirements, including the local minimum wage rate.
