The Field Nurse LPN will conduct quality reviews and provide education specific to medication compliance for Skilled Nursing (SNF) and Assisted Living (ALF) customers. This position includes observing and giving one on one feedback to staff conducting medication pass, reviewing medication carts and rooms for medication storage compliance and safety, conducting in-services for medication administration, and checking clinical documentation.
This position territory will cover the states of Minnesota, Iowa and parts of Wisconsin. Travel will be 80% of the work week with overnight stays required.
Primary Job Duties & Responsibilities:
This position will perform the duties below by working on-site in various client facilities within long term care:
- Meet with customers to present Omnicare Nursing Services and promote utilization of support tools and programs
- Evaluate regulatory compliance and determine clinical education needs for SNF/ Senior Living customers as it relates to pharmacy services
- Review medication carts and medication rooms for proper medication storage
- Observe medication pass and provide feedback to staff and leadership
- Review charts for proper documentation of medication management
- Conduct review of orders to medications being delivered by pharmacy to ensure order accuracy
- Identify and provide recommendations regarding deficiencies and opportunities around drug inventories, storage, and distribution
- Provide clinical training to facility staff, typically in small groups of 10-15 staff members
- Manage resolution of customer issues and requests
- Assist with onboarding new facilities to pharmacy processes
Required Qualifications:
- Licensed nurse (LPN/LVN) with current license in state of employment; additional licensure may be required in multi-state service areas
- Established experience in nursing field with recent experience that may include direct patient care, physical assessment, clinical education, and group in-servicing in the long -term care setting
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite with a focus on Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, and Web applications
- Ability to travel regularly, up to 80%
- Valid driver's license and ability to drive long distances
Preferred Qualifications:
- Long term care clinical experience

- Licensed Practical Nurse or Licensed Vocational Nurse

Pay Range
The typical pay range for this role is:
$46,597.00 - $101,228.00
This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors.
