Summary

Schedule Requirements: Must be available to work a flexible schedule during the week, including weekends and holidays.

Role

Hires, trains, manages and coaches the pastry and baking team. Provide a quality product that is timely, fresh and meets quantity needs of banquets and restaurants. To work directly with the Executive Chef to maintain and improve the culinary operation. Must be a liaison with all departments within the hotel. Skills and knowledge to include baking/pastry education, cost control, communication skills, training skills and knowledge of all pastry/baking related tasks, computer skills, organizational skills, guest contact and staff management knowledge.

Qualifications

• 4-5+ years of experience in a high-volume/fine dining/Banquet/Pastry production kitchen, ideally within a hotel or resort setting.
• Must have a minimum of 3+ years' previous supervisory experience with organizing and scheduling employees to maximize efficiency.
• Extensive experience across multiple disciplines of pastry arts, including production, cake design, artisan breads, sugar artistry, and more.
• Advanced knowledge and hands-on skills in chocolate work and decorative artistry is desired.
• Basic P&L knowledge.
• A degree in Pastry Arts is preferred.
• Spanish-speaking ability is a plus, but not a requirement.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule during the week to accommodate resort business levels.
