The Pharmacy Workflow Innovation team is a dynamic group within Retail Store Operations that supports the business and retail colleagues while upholding and reinforcing regulatory and compliance standards. This role is for someone who combines a passion for improving experiences with a growth mindset to help transform retail pharmacy. The colleague will translate opportunities to improve customer service, colleague engagement, and efficiency into new programs, tools, and processes that integrate into or expand the retail pharmacy operating model. Day to day, the role may include partnering with DDAT to build key workflow domains in a new system, aligning stakeholders and leadership, conducting root-cause analyses, and leading analyses on complex retail pharmacy issues while managing 2-3 direct reports. Success requires strong collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to influence field leadership, store teams, and enterprise partners including Pharmacy Operations, Procurement, Growth, Regulatory, Legal, Quality & Safety, and others, while consistently delivering results with senior stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
- Lead strategic planning by building and maintaining a clear, prioritized roadmap that delivers company ambitions through workflow, policy, and process changes across the ecosystem, with strong cross-functional alignment
- Use data and analytics to define actionable measures and metrics, conduct first-level analyses to uncover drivers of performance shifts, and track KPI results tied to strategic initiatives
- Drive disciplined program execution by setting timelines and accountabilities, managing interdependencies across Retail, and running effective planning and operating cadences to ensure actions close on time
- Influence and align stakeholders (including Retail SVP-level leaders) through clear executive communication, strong presentations, and proactive change management that removes implementation barriers while reinforcing ethical, compliant practices
- Build a high-performing organization by leading culture and talent development, including coaching and mentoring, succession planning, engagement programs, and leveraging enterprise development tools to grow next-generation leaders
Required Qualifications:
- Demonstrated strong work ethic, ownership, and accountability, with the ability to build measurable business value while thriving in a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment
- Proven people and team leadership experience, including leading by example, maintaining a positive and motivating presence, and effectively engaging and inspiring teams to deliver strong outcomes
- 8+ years of experience leading complex cross-functional initiatives and developing strategies that mobilize the business to achieve goals using innovative, practical solutions
- Strong capability in process innovation and operational improvement, including diagnosing process/system issues, developing business cases, defining solutions, mapping processes, and supporting new system development, backed by deep knowledge of retail pharmacy operations
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office (especially Excel and PowerPoint), strong data-driven decision-making and influence (with and without authority, up to Retail SVP levels), and willingness to travel up to 25%
Preferred Qualifications:
- 10+ years of total business experience, with a proven track record of delivering results in fast-paced, complex environments
- 10+ years leading highly complex, cross-functional teams and initiatives, including building and sustaining high-performing teams
- 10+ years developing and executing innovative strategies that mobilize the organization to achieve key goals and outcomes
- 10+ years of demonstrated ability to influence with and without authority, driving alignment across diverse stakeholder groups
- 10+ years using data and analytics to inform strategic plans, prioritize work based on skills/needs/timelines, and support ROI-driven decision-making, plus advanced knowledge of workforce management and retail business operations (including pharmacy)
Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
Pay Range
The typical pay range for this role is:
$82,940.00 - $182,549.00
This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above. This position also includes an award target in the company's equity award program.
