SENIOR PERFORMANCE ANALYST
CHICAGO POLICE DEPARTMENT
Audit Division
Number of Vacancies: 1
(Additional vacancies possible pending budget approval)
Starting Salary: $82,884.00 annually

* Candidates must pass a background investigation, drug screen, and other pre-employment procedures as determined by the Chicago Police Department.
Under general supervision, performs fully functional professional analysis of programs and operations in The Chicago Police Department and makes recommendations to improve their effectiveness, and performs related duties as required .
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Contributes to performance analysis and reviews to monitor and assess reform compliance, including but not limited to those related to the consent decree and the Chicago Police Department (CPD) strategic plan (e.g., use of force, training, community policing, etc.)
- Conducts in-depth research and analysis of departmental operations in support of assignments including data analysis, reviews of reform efforts, and other strategic efforts to assess compliance levels
- Develops and maintains audit plans that identify all actions, resources, and deliverables required to complete reviews of compliance with consent decree requirements, CPD strategic plan, and other reform initiatives within desired timelines
- Thoroughly documents and conducts audit work including interviews, document review, and both qualitative and quantitative data analyses before drafting findings and potential recommendations for team leadership
- Facilitates interviews to obtain information concerning internal processes and work practices
- Gathers, evaluates and interprets narrative and statistical data to summarize condition of Department's activities relative to policies, procedures, and other criteria
- Drafts performance audit reports documenting the causes of inefficiencies, uneconomical practices, and potential recommendations before submitting for supervisory review
- Communicates details of status and maintenance of reform and strategy implementation to team leadership and prepares project status, recommendations, and ad hoc reports
- Manages client relationships to provide visibility on project progress, deadlines, and related issues .

ADDRESS: 3510 S Michigan Ave
SHIFT: Monday through Friday
HOURS: 9 :00 am to 5:00 pm (some flexibility within the core business hours)

Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education, Training, and Experience
• Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree plus three (3) years of work experience in program auditing or operations analysis, OR
• Graduation from an accredited college or university with a master's degree or higher plus two (2) years of work experience in program auditing or operations analysis
NOTE: You must provide your transcripts or diploma at the time of processing.
Preference will be given to candidates possessing the following:
- Previous experience conducting data analysis in Excel, including using formulas (e.g., vlookup) and creating pivot tables
- Previous experience writing reports
SELECTION REQUIREMENTS
This position requires applicants to complete an interview, which will include a written exercise and/or a skills assessment test as part of the interview. The interviewed candidate(s) possessing the qualifications best suited to fulfill the responsibilities of the position, based on the oral and written parts of the interview will be selected.
