Position Overview
Spa Alila is the heart of wellness at the resort-an intimate space designed to nurture, balance, and inspire. We are currently seeking a Taskforce Spa Manager to lead the spa team and operations on an interim basis. This is a hands-on leadership role ideal for a seasoned spa professional with luxury or boutique experience.
The Spa Manager will oversee day-to-day operations, while also providing direct support to the team by managing the front desk, coordinating wellness programming, and maintaining the exceptional service and ambiance Spa Alila is known for. This leader will be calm, confident, highly professional, and deeply service-oriented.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead all daily operations of Spa Alila, ensuring a serene, seamless, and Forbes-level guest experience
- Manage and mentor a small team of spa professionals and wellness practitioners
- Maintain a regular on-site presence, including covering front desk shifts or assisting with guest coordination as needed
- Oversee spa cleanliness, ambiance, scheduling, retail curation, and vendor relationships
- Support and coordinate wellness offerings such as yoga, breathwork, meditation, and energy modalities
- Partner with the resort's marketing and events teams to support seasonal activations and wellness-focused guest experiences
- Ensure spa compliance with licensing, hygiene, and safety protocols
- Respond to guest inquiries and concerns with warmth, urgency, and professionalism
- Monitor and analyze financial performance to optimize spa profitability and service quality
- Stay attuned to luxury spa trends, wellness innovations, and local market dynamics
Compensation & Assignment Details
This is a full-time taskforce position, offered on a temporary basis.
Salary range: $80,000 annually, based on experience and qualifications.
Please note: This position does not include full-time Hyatt benefits such as medical, dental, vision, or 401(k) eligibility.

Qualifications
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of spa or wellness leadership experience, preferably within a luxury, boutique, or Forbes-rated property
- Proven ability to lead with professionalism, empathy, and calm authority
- Passion for holistic wellness and the healing power of hospitality
- Willingness to perform administrative and front desk duties as needed in a hands-on environment
- Familiarity with spa booking platforms such as Book4Time (or similar systems)
- Highly organized with strong communication and guest engagement skills
- CPR/First Aid certification preferred
- A background in massage therapy, esthetics, or energy work is a plus
Physical Requirements
This role requires the ability to:
- Stand or walk for extended periods throughout the workday
- Lift and transport up to 25 lbs, including retail items and spa supplies
- Occasionally bend, reach, stoop, and climb stairs in a multi-level spa facility
- Use a computer, telephone, and POS/reservation system regularly
- Work indoors and outdoors in a natural, coastal environment with variable weather conditions
