Supply Chain Data Scientist/Engineer
About the Role
We are looking for a proactive and communicative Data Scientist Intern to join our team for the summer.

You will be tackling a critical, real-world business challenge: modernizing a complex, high-volume data reporting process.

Currently, our team extracts data from PBI (connected to the Zebra data lake/SQL databases) and relies heavily on Excel and Power Query.

This manual process is no longer sustainable due to dataset sizes and is sensitive to human error.

Your primary mission is to help us map this workflow and design a scalable, automated alternative.

Key Responsibilities

• Process Mapping: Analyze and document the current end-to-end data extraction and reporting process (from our SQL DB/data lake through to the final outputs).
• Solution Design: Research and propose a modern automation solution that eliminates our reliance on heavy Excel/Power Query processing and reduces human error.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Actively cooperate with Business Analysts, IT, and our core business team to ensure the proposed solution meets everyone's requirements.
• Execution & Planning: Outline the steps required to implement the new automated solution and assist in the initial transition phases.

Who We Are Looking For

• Tech-Savvy: You have a solid understanding of data handling, databases (SQL), and modern automation/scripting tools (mostly working with DAX, M and other Microsoft Power Queries) that can handle large datasets better than Excel.
• Strong Communicator: You are not shy. You have excellent communication skills in English and feel comfortable proactively reaching out to different teams and stakeholders.
• Problem Solver: You are flexible, open-minded, and highly focused on delivering a practical solution to a specific business problem.
• Independent but Collaborative: You can work autonomously on your mapping and research, but know when to sync with the team to stay aligned.
