This position provides centralized ownership of transportation execution without adding a supervisory layer.

• Verify trailer seals, documentation, and chain-of-custody requirements
• Identify and escalate at-risk trailers before compliance thresholds are reached
• Document and track transportation exceptions in an auditable format
Communication & Escalation
• Act as the primary transportation contact for:
o Front-line supervisors and group leads
o Admin teams
o Third-party security
o Yard/jockey teams
• Provide shift-start and daily transportation status updates
• Execute escalation protocols for delays, equipment issues, or compliance risks
Reporting & Visibility

• Identify trends and recurring issues for leadership review
Business Value
• Risk Reduction: Proactively prevents Rx excursions and transportation compliance issues
• Efficiency: Removes transportation tracking and coordination tasks from supervisors and admins
• Accountability: Establishes a single owner for all DC transportation flow
• Visibility: Improves real-time awareness of yard and dock conditions
• Scalability: Supports current and future volume without increasing leadership headcount
Growth & Development Opportunity
This role is intentionally structured as a lateral hourly opportunity for a strong associate with interest in transportation, coordination, and compliance. It provides exposure to:
• Yard and transportation systems (YMS/TMS)
• Cross-functional leadership collaboration
• Compliance and risk management
• Data tracking and operational reporting
The role creates a development path toward:
• Transportation leadership
• Operations support roles
• Safety, quality, or compliance functions
Success Measures
• Zero preventable Rx compliance incidents
• Reduction in trailer dwell and yard congestion
• Improved on-time departures and pickups
• Decreased transportation-related admin workload for supervisors
Summary
The Transportation Coordinator role centralizes ownership of transportation flow and compliance, reduces operational risk, and frees front-line leaders to focus on people and production.
